Sorry I misunderstood your first comment. You are right, I get really defensive over the topic because I see so much victim blaming, particularly on Reddit. I wish it wasnât even a topic that needed to be discussed. Iâm sorry you went through something so horrible.
One of the top comments says âgoâ language is more important than ânoâ language. What the actual fuck.
I wasnât saying enthusiastic consent is bad. Iâm saying if someone is raped, itâs not their fault if they didnât say GO GO GO. If someone has any sort of inclination the person isnât ready to have sex, THAT should be enough for someone to say, âAre you sure you want to do this?â Of course GO language is important, but saying itâs more important than NO language, to me reads as âoh well she didnât say NO so I obviously didnât rape herâ, like itâs the victims fault for not speaking up.

Reddit goes fucking crazy at any mention of being accused of rape, usually to the point of not considering the victimsâ point of view whatsoever.
