I (39m) got dumped (26f) because I'm "too empathetic" as an older guy?

This is more of a vent than anything else, but I honestly am completely surprised and confused by this one, as it's a first.

I was seeing this person for about a month and everything was fine and such, when out of nowhere I heard a story about her having some legal issue with another person and she was mocking said person on the basis of them being scared and overwhelmed enough to ask for a friend to come over for support while dealing with the issue even though that person was clearly at fault.

The person I was seeing really wanted me to find it laughable and sad that this other person was an adult but couldn't handle her situation on her own, and I made a point of saying that while I wasn't trying deny her feelings on the issue, I can't see a personally see problem with any human being feeling overwhelmed by something to the point of wanting a friend's help to sort out what's going on and make the best decisions.

I got told that's insane for me to think and that launched into a rant about how she thinks that's completely pathetic that I would have any empathy for any adult that can't handle their problems on their own, especially as an older guy, and she then broke it off and said good luck.

I know that's a giant hulking red flag being waved in my face and that I am better finding that out now, and etc, but I'm still pretty surprised by what happened.
