Moving out. It's weird. Got tips?
Post Body

I may be moving out soon-ish. I'm moving 2 hours away from my parents, and I might be staying with some very kind friends. I'm 24 years old, I have an AA in a field that I will not be working in.

I'm very worried about the money aspect of it. I do not want to be staying with my friends long. I have experience in customer service at best buy, and a very odd front desk job I had at my college. However due to reasons out of my control, I've been out of work for nearly 2 years.

Rent in the area I want to live is anywhere between 650-800. Of course there are options for more, but I'm realistic and no looking at anything over 800.

Income taxes is 2.5% for the state but I don't know how to calculate insurance because I've never had to pay for it. I know I have to make 3 times my rent in NET income. Getting a 15$ an hour job is NOT hard but anything more it starts to get a little trickier.

I don't know if I am a desirable candidate for anything else. I have no interest in an particular field I just want to be paid fairly and be able to afford to live. I don't spent a ton of money on frivolous things. The only super important frivolous expense to me is fast internet, because I like to make videos and play games online in my free time. I don't yet have a car but I'm not looking for an expensive thing I just want something that will go.

I have 25,000 in savings so I have a cushion between leaving my parents and getting work, although that won't help with the "get an apartment" part.

I know to look at what utilies are included. Take pictures of conditions of apartment and email them to myself. I already have a good credit score. It's only slightly over 2 years old but it was classified as a good one on credit karma lol

The obvious thing would be to work while living with my parents and try and transfer out there, but my stepmother actively hates me and there's nothing I can do to change her opinion so I have to trial by fire myself out of here.

So do any of you have any job advice, apartment advice, or stuff you went through when moving out? How do I convince landlords I'm responsible enough to handle rent? I'm trying to be as prepared as possible. But I'm not even sure if I've included all relevant information in this post lol

thanks!
