Hello. I am currently trying to get a job as A-line cook at a retirement community. I have a prior arrest from back in January of aggr evaporated assault tampering with evidence and criminal trespass. I initially disclosed that I did not have any convictions which is technically the truth.. My case is not yet gone to court and is still pending.. But the federal background check has been taken quite a long time and they ask for me to go into my local police station And get a temporary background check. To my surprise, that background check showed my charges from January. It is my 1st offender act in Georgia so I will be able to expunge it in the future in the future, but for now I have to find a way to disclose it to this company, seeing as they wish me to start very very soon. Later today I'm gonna go in there address nicely and ask them if they would consider still hiring me despite this charge charge, seeing aseeing as I am now in sober living and I'm taking the steps to better myself. The offense was somewhat drug related because I was coming off of craedom, adderall, alcohol, and weed.
Similarly, while this offense is on my record how can I take steps to easily get a job? I hear that you need to usually work in construction or some kind of independent contracting jobs that don't require background checks like nationwide companies.. I am working to take the steps to steps to expunge this, but for now it is quite jarring and discouraging to have this on my record. For reference, it is an aggravated assault charge against my father.. He has since turned around and helped me get out of jail help paid for my lawyer and drug and rehab treatments, it's, so things are decent nowadays between us.
