How to tell your family you’re leaving again for a few months
Post Body

Hello all. So within the last year I got out of the military and have been home ever since. Being home has been kind of rocky but mostly good. It’s been nice being with my family who I’ve only seen a handful of times in the past half a decade. Staying relatively vague, recent events have given opportunities to leave again and do something I’ve wanted to do for well over a year now. The thing is, it involves me to leave the country and go into a semi dangerous area. I know my family isn’t gonna be so happy about it and they rely on my for help around the house often. I’ll also be missing a couple big family events but this is something I’ve been wanting to do for a long time. How do I break it to them? I thought about lying and saying it’s for a different reason or maybe just saying it right before I leave but what’s the best way to break it to them? TIA

TLDR: how to break news to your family that you’re leaving again after being gone for a long time?
