Question about moisturizing (Please read Id appreciate the response)

So, I obviously moisturize with a lotion in the morning. At night however, my derm has prescribed me a “silicone gel” that I’ve found to double as a moisturizer relatively okay? Should I still be using my regular moisturizer on top of it or is the gel good enough?
