Industry CPA thinking of moving on.
Post Body

I am the controller for a small to mid size company. I have a solid team of 5 people who are all great, smart workers. I've also gained a lot of influence within this company. I like my current job a lot but I'm thinking about reentering the job market.
My current job doesn't offer good insurance and has a terrible PTO policy. I am getting 32 hours of PTO this year. The insurance really hurts because my spouse does not work outside of the home, so I am covering the whole family out of pocket. Would you guys leave a job you like, a job that has you in the room where company wide decisions are made for other opportunities with better insurance, PTO and more money?

32 hours of PTO? That right there is enough, you get 4 days off a year? That company should go kick rocks. You mention you’ve gained influence I’d suggest bringing that up. I would never even consider taking a call from a place with that kind of benefits.
