Last week I posted a survey asking people what their views are on the Simulation Hypothesis and I got great feedback! a total of 227 responses came back! Here are some sneak peak results of the survey, in the next month or so I will create a video explaining the results in detail including correlations between all the answers - I generated a correlation matrix and it's fascinating to say the least :)
- Total of 227 Responses
- 18.5% coming from /r/AWLIAS
- 62.6% coming from somewhere else on reddit, mostly from /r/transhumanism/ I suspect
- Most common probability was between 40-60% with 23.3% choosing that
- Most common year of learning about the Simulation Hypothesis/Simulation Argument was 2016 with 16.8% of people choosing that
- Most probable explanation if we are indeed living in a Simulation was 'Non-human creation - with us being byproduct of the simulation' at 33%
- Most convincing argument for Simulation Hypothesis was The Simulation Argument by Nick Bostrom at 28.2%
- The most agreed/disagreed answer was 'The conscious mind can never be simulated' with 81% people disagreeing on it.
- The top two MBTI types were INTP (23.8%) and INTJ (18.9%) with 3 types not even having a single person!
Subscribe in this youtube channel where I will post the results video: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCWQlCVX1JZgzSTDITUR8mHg
I will also create an infographic and post it here and on /r/dataisbeautiful/
If you haven't done the survey here it is again and I will update my findings if enough new people fill it out: https://goo.gl/forms/x5bTWBSwp3pnaSlu1
