Problem getting 4K at 60 Hz with Asus laptop/monitor using USB C hub

Post Body

Hi all, having a rather esoteric problem connecting my external display and my laptop, hoping someone here can help.

I have an Asus ZenBook Pro Duo UX582LR 4K laptop and an Asus 4K VG289Q monitor which I run mirroring my primary laptop display. I am able to get 4K at 60 Hz just fine with an HDMI cable plugged directly into laptop; however, when routing the HDMI through my USB hub I seem to be stuck at 30 Hz. I did my research and made sure to buy a hub that supported 4K at 60 Hz over USB C with DisplayPort 1.4 alt mode, linked here for reference. My HDMI cable is also rated for 60 Hz (as evidenced by doing so when plugged in directly).

Have attempted some troubleshooting in the Nvidia Control Panel and Windows display settings, but am a bit out of my depth! Have also done some searching online but is mostly either Macs or older laptops that don't support DVA 1.4
