Post Body

Well figured this would happen.

The motherboard went in for RMA due to random reboots. (narrowed to MB after all parts were swapped with an identical setup)

Look at this pic !!!The plastic protector is still on the panel !!! WTF is this BS that they are pulling going to email the CEO office now.

$218 to repair my ass. They look for anything to reject RMA. I am surprised that they did not reject it for the oil leaking out of the VRM heatsinks.

UPDATE:

Well called the 4th time and got someone with some brains!!! they waived the charge and sending a new board. Squeaky wheel....

I will keep you updated on the replacement. People should not have to go though this.

Bought an asus laptop in 2022, had to return it within a week due to cooling issued and fan whine. Bought another one shortly after, had issues from the get go. Reported them to Asus CS who did nothing. Finally got an RMA, week after a bill for £3400, which is more than the laptop cost. Queried it and they said motherboard issue (amongst others) and it was a faulty product, shouldn't have left the factory. Confirmed it was damaged I couldn't have done without it being obvious. Still said I'd have to pay for it though. Now been returned to amazon for a full refund. Never again.
