Edit: I now realize the term "intrusive thoughts win" is an insensitive phrase that I should not have used and I apologize. As I cannot edit the title without deleting the post where VAs have commented on filling the scripts, I decided to address it here.

Synopsis: Hoping to bribe him into letting you pet his ears, you offer your neko best friend catnip. However, alongside a needy reaction, he becomes truthful about his feelings for you as well.

Important Notes: Feel free to change or make additions to small aspects of this work such as the tags, pronouns, title, etc.! VA goes by NEKO and the listener is LISTENER. I really only put M4A or F4A because I want to have the pronouns of the speaker and listener different so it isn’t confusing. All of my scripts are really intended to be A4A.

When the dialogue (words he says, not pauses or actions) for the neko boi becomes italicized and bolded it means there is a voice tone change.

INT. The listener’s apartment living room.

The neko saunters into the room, making himself comfortable as he sighs and plops onto the couch. The listener just stands and watches.

NEKO

So, I'm here, you wanted to show me something? Why do you look so surprised? Of course I was gonna come over if you asked. I didn't have anything planned for today, nothing important anyways. Besides, this is the only place other than my apartment where I don’t have to hide my ears.

(pause)

Why are you staring at them? This isn’t new, you’ve seen them like, a hundred times. Stop already, you're making me uncomfortable.

(pausing and softly sniffing the air)

Uhm. Do you smell something?

​

NEKO

No, it's not you, dork. There's something off… why do you have your hands behind your back?

​

The listener starts coming closer, taking the small plant from behind them.

​

NEKO

Why are you getting closer? Is that… catnip? H-hey what are you planning? If you think I'm gonna let you pet me because of this you're dead wrong.

​

The listener stops.

​

NEKO

Yeah, I know what you've been thinking. Even if you’ve never said it out loud you’ve made it super obvious. But, it's not gonna happen. You're really desperate, aren't you?

[...]

​

NEKO

I don't care. It's subconscious if my eyes are dilating. I can't stop staring at it. Hey, stay where you are. Stop. Stop getting closer.

The listener tries pushing it to him and then the two playfully wrestle.

NEKO

(trying not to laugh)

Hey! Get it away from me already! Stop shoving it at me! I said stop, jeez!

(trying to be stern)

No, I’m serious, I’m serious. I mean it, dork.

(sighing)

Ugh, I can't take it anymore. Just give it already.

​

NEKO

I said hand it over. Stop being such a brat.

​

They give it to him.

​

NEKO

Finally. You know, I've actually never tested something like this out.

He begins softly sniffing at the plant for a few moments.

NEKO

No, nothing so far. I guess nekos aren't as responsive to this stuff as a normal cat would be. Nice try, dork. If that's all you wanted to try then-

(big pause, words now forced)

What I'm trying to say is- why aren't my words coming out? I. Am. Going. Back. Home-

(voice changes to a cutesy tone)

I wanna stay here with you! Let's spend the rest of the day together!

(normal)

Huh?! I don't mean that- I don't know what's happening… Could you quit laughing already?

(very sarcastic)

Helpful. Real helpful. Any other obvious observations you wanna point out? Do my perked-up ears amuse you?

Oh shut up. I’m freaked out, of course my ears are reacting. I’m fine I can just-

(voice change)

I’d feel so much better if you pet me!

(normal)

Huh?! I swear I have no clue- I-

(voice change)

I really want you to pet me!

(he slams his hand over his mouth, words now muffled)

Go ahead and pet me!

(clearing throat, hand now away from mouth)

Uhm, I must be getting an allergic reaction. Oh god, my face is burning up.

The listener comes closer.

​

NEKO

N-no you should stay back, I don’t mean any of this stuff. Don’t touch me. I mean it dork… don’t…

​

As soon as the listener starts petting him he purrs. He sighs and softly moans as he sinks his head into their palm.

NEKO

(relaxed and enjoying it)

I swear it’s not intentional… but I can’t pull away. Heh, you are really enjoying this huh?

(pause)

Uhm… I just remembered I have an assignment due today.

[...]

​

NEKO

No, I’m not trying to change the topic-

(voice change)

Yes I am! I am so embarrassed right now!

[...]

​

NEKO

(groans in defeated frustration)

It does feel good. Don’t worry, I’m calming down. You don’t have to keep going-

(slamming hand over mouth again)

but I want you to! Keep going please!

(whiny)

Oh god, it’s getting worse. I don’t know what’s happening.

NEKO

Well yeah, it’s obviously the catnip, dork.

(sighing)

It’s clearly making me say random stuff…

The listener takes away their hand and he stops purring.

NEKO

Nuh-uh. Not “the truth.” It’s not like I actually want any of this.

(pause)

Uhm… why’d you stop petting me?

[...]

NEKO

It’s whatever at this point. You can keep going.

​

[...]

​

NEKO

You're kidding.

(pause)

You're not.

(sighs and reluctant)

I want you to keep going.

[...]

NEKO

(flustered)

I said I want you to keep going. Please.

The listener continues and he starts purring again. This goes on for a few seconds.

​

NEKO

Uhm. H-hey, you wouldn’t mind if I… if we…

(sigh)

Just come here and let me hug you.

​

He grabs ahold of the listener, pulling them on top of him and they are now both on the couch as he continues purring.

​

NEKO

Deal with it. You brought this upon yourself, I get to hold on as tightly as I want.

(whispering)

It’s not like I have much control either way… sorry if I’m hurting you.

(normal)

But there’s no point in trying to deny it. Call it “needy” or whatever you’d like but this is just because of the catnip and nothing else.

NEKO

Of course it’s just the catnip. I’m embarrassed and I wish this was over already.

(pause, stop purring)

Why do you look so disappointed? Hey, is something wrong? You don’t have to be here if you don’t want to be. I think I can figure this out on my own…

NEKO

What? Why are you apologizing? Hey, neither of us knew this was gonna happen. Really, it’s fine.

NEKO

No, I’m not mad. It’s not- look, I don’t really… mind. I don’t hate this, alright? If anyone else gave me catnip I wouldn’t act this way with them.

(whispers)

I just wish it didn’t have to come to this.

I mean, dork, although I hate to admit that you’re right, I do think the catnip made me a little… more truthful. Just a bit though, don’t get full of yourself.

(playfully)

No, no, no. You don’t deserve to say “I told you so,” you still got us into this mess. Stop smiling.

NEKO

Huh? Oh… what I meant was… I just wish it didn’t take catnip for me to be honest about how I feel. How I feel… about you. Ugh, now I’m so embarrassed.

NEKO

Really? Well, if my eyes are back to normal then I guess the effects wore off. That was fast, but again I guess it affects cats and nekos differently.

NEKO

No, no, you don’t have to get off… I want you to stay here.

(pause)

But you get what I’m trying to say, right? Or are you making me say it too?

NEKO

Of course you would. Fine… well… I-

​

The listener cuts him off with a long kiss.

NEKO

H-huh? What was that for?

​

NEKO

Well, of course I couldn’t finish what I was saying. You’re gonna make me start all over?

NEKO

Yes, I’m annoyed, you interrupted me. I mean yeah I’m happy you feel the same but you need to let me finish. Look, I like-

The listener interrupts him with yet another kiss.

​

NEKO

(chuckling)

Hey, I’m trying to be serious here. Stop, let me do this, I mean it. Yeah, if it means I have to push your face away like this I will.

(whispering)

I like you. I think it’s pretty obvious now, I just wish it didn’t take catnip for me to be more upfront about it. You're so annoying but… you're my favorite dork. I suppose you're my dork now but… I think I can deal with it.

He initiates a series of kisses.

​

NEKO

Sure, you can keep going. You can go on and pet me as long as you’d like. We can just lay here for a bit. Just for a little, alright?

​

The audio fades out to the sound of cuddling and him purring again.

​
