I swear to God I get most of my ideas at 4-5am when I'm fighting the melatonin tablets (and low-key delirious) out of spite for no reason even though I willingly took them to sleep. This is very similar to my yandere incubus script but the opposite sort of? Instead of accidentally signing a contract, the speaker wants to break it, and it's not yandere it's mega annoyed tsundere with light stalker vibes and they're both protective? There's no murder this time, that's it LOL.

The listener returns to their apartment, the door closing behind them.

ANGEL

Are you kidding me? I made it so easy for you, all you had to do was strike up a conversation with them. You've done nothing but ogle at them for weeks. I set up everything and make the two of you even bump into each other over and over again and you can't even- ugh.

ANGEL

Well, I guess there are better ways to begin an introduction. I'm your guardian angel.

ANGEL

I said I'm your guardian angel. I didn't break into your apartment or anything. Look, let's make this quick. The reason why you can see me right now is that I want to break my contract with you. I've had enough.

ANGEL

I've had enough of you. Even if I've only been with you for a month it's hard keeping up with someone who's always so clumsy and forgetful. The number of times I've slipped your keys into your pockets so you wouldn't lock yourself out for the hundredth time or made sure your phone screen didn't crack when you dropped it is insane. There's only so much I can do, you know. I want the best for you, I mean, it’s my job after all. I even tried helping you out with your crush.

ANGEL

H-huh? Well, I guess some crushes can be surface-level. I... jumped to conclusions, I didn’t think you didn’t want to actually date them.

(pause, sigh)

But either way, I can’t help out with everything. Sometimes bad luck happens, but the good thing about bad luck is that it can give you hope that the next day will be better. I want you to be optimistic. I can't say everything happens for a reason, that would be way too exhausting for me to follow through with every little decision you make. But I still want you to be able to find the positives or at least the different possibilities even if things don't end up the way you wanted. I want you to be able to trust yourself.

Come on, it’s generic advice. You’re doing alright.

(pause)

Look… I didn’t actually want to break my contract with you. I thought that maybe your life would be better if a different guardian angel took my place.

Well, I said I want the best for you. It’s strange, you pining over that person for so long got me so frustrated. I don’t know why.

Hah! Jealous? Don't be ridiculous. My guess is that I think you deserve better. For example… a guardian angel who doesn’t get emotionally attached to who they watch over. I think because of how much I was trying to help I ended up making things worse. I'm… sorry about the whole crush thing. I understand if you're upset, you didn't ask for a guardian angel in the first place and I'm overstepping. Look, if it needs to be done then I’ll break the contract with you.

ANGEL

No. It’s not a good idea if I stay. But, I’m glad you were able to see me before I go. Just so you know who’s been helping you out so much.

But, uhm, now it’s kind of complicated since you saw me in my physical form.

Well, usually we only turn into physical forms in serious situations where there needs to be an interference, like say if the person they are guarding is in danger. Or in this case, if they want to break the contract of who they were assigned to.

ANGEL

So that means… well that means… once we turn into our physical forms we are kind of stuck being visible. Even if I return to my other form and invisible to everyone else, you'd still be able to see me. Again, this was only for severe circumstances where the chances of us interacting again would be slim.

ANGEL

Oh, sure I wouldn't mind. You don't have to thank me for helping you out, even if it's just a hug.

The two hug, the angel patting their head.

ANGEL

There, there you're alright.

(long pause)

Oh right, I should let go now. It's late. You need rest.

ANGEL

No, no. You had a really long day today. Whatever you need to work on can wait until morning. It's better to work after you’ve rested rather than forcing yourself to finish. Bed. Now.

ANGEL

H-huh? You're really taking advantage of my physical form, aren't you? If it'll help you fall asleep then fine.

The two get into bed.

ANGEL

You like this side of the bed right? And this pillow. Here.

(pause)

Just for the record, I don't watch you while you sleep. I take time for myself. And the moment I'm gone something always happens.

(chuckling)

Well, thanks for not accusing me of being a creep. At least now I can make sure you go to sleep.

(pause, softly)

I don’t actually think being clumsy or forgetful is necessarily a bad thing. I think you’re persistently trying your best every single day, it’s hard not to fall for someone like you-
