Being slow on school tests?

Basically, I´m a fairly good student but I have a huge problem with finishing any tests and assignments on time and I don't know why that is :/ teachers have suggested me organizing everything into tables eg before I write it down but that takes EVEN LONGER! Does anyone have similar experiences or can give any advice?
