What the title says: I have considered how people talk a lot about 2nd and 11th primarchs, as individuals, but not so much about legions. So I just wanted to know what is any existing lore for those legions, if there is any, and what are people's headcanons. For example, even if I were to believe that one of them was a blank, that would still not mean that their entire legion was that of blanks, right? So, to me, the question of what were 2nd and 11th Legions meant for, as opposed to primarchs, is as interesting, since we know that they were, most likely, not killed by simply "moved" to other legions.
For one of them, "medics" would make sense, I think. Those would be space marines that specialize in, well, just that, healing, retrieval of geneseeds, gene editing and so on (not like I will be the first one to suggest that Bile might've not been originally from Emperor's Sons)
And for the 11th? Or, well, "the other" in this case: I am actually struggling a little bit. With Emperor, there is a theme that he has 2 legions take up roughly the same sphere (think, say, Ravens and Night Lords) but I am struggling to come up with just 1 more specialization that we already do not have. It feels like to me that they would have to be something akin to Word Bearers? Another legion with a focus on spreading the dogma of Imperium, not warring?
