I (36m Tortle Monk) really want to throw my wife (52f Halfling Paladin) as an improvised weapon. Is this a sign of an unhealthy relationship?
Post Body

So she and I decided to come up with a couple of crack characters who really shouldn’t work but somehow do anyways. I’m playing as an STR Open Hand Tavern Brawler Tortle who does awful, awful things like knocking high threat enemies prone and dragging them around, and she’s a Halfling DEX Paladin who picked Sentinel because hey why not. Thing is that she has trouble closing the distance on some enemies and while her DEX is good for ranged attacks, she is still a melee focused class at the end of the day, and Paladins aren’t known for their mobility.

Which got me thinking...

Tavern Brawler gives proficiency to improvised weapons, and the handbook’s take on improvised weapons is... pretty broad (it explicitly mentions a using a small creature as one).

So... Purely on RAW... Can I use her as a proficient improvised thrown weapon with 20/60 1d4 STR? The DM found the idea absolutely hilarious when I suggested it but I want to make sure it’s not 100% illegal in RAW first.

To take things even further, could she ready an attack action for when she hits the target?

At the very least the Paladin would finally get a ranged Smite attack, even if it takes two players...
